For its first new traveling exhibit in 15 years, Scholastic asked kubik to create a sophisticated expression of the company’s depth and diversity. The point to be made was that Scholastic had changed over the years into a sophisticated company offering a full range of modern educational products. For kubik, this was another opportunity for its international team to shine. Designers based in Toronto worked with the build team in Amsterdam to bring three important elements into harmony: Children’s books, with their bright primary colours and bold graphics; high-tech demonstration of video and interactive product; and comfortable meeting space for conducting serious business. Result: The exhibit created a mature, buyer-friendly environment, and made it clear that Scholastic had the ability to combine the sensitivities of children’s publishing with the business demands of a modern book-buying marketplace.
